PROJECT: ELECTRONIC DIVIDERS

The TED Dividers is a product designed to speed up quantity surveying for builders.

We worked closely with local electronics firm of the time, Holiday Electronics, to design the dividers. We designed all mechanical parts, with electronics hardware and software being designed by Holiday Electronics.

A set of plans is digitised using the Dividers. They are connected to a computer that reads the opening and closing of the dividers. Reports are produced on the quantities of materials required to build a particular building.

In a typical home building project such as a 3 bedroom home, with this product, time to quote would likely reduce from several hours down to 20 minutes. With 'acceptance-of-quote' figures often lower than 1 in 5 projects, this product saves an enormous amount of wasted time and frustration for people involved in the quoting process.
